A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT SEAN RUGLESS ABOUT THE CHAMBER

The vision of the African American Chamber of Commerce is to be the leading advocate for the more than 7,000 African American businesses in the region.  Through the efforts of our past leadership, corporate partners, and a thriving African American business community, at approximately 350 members, our Chamber has grown to become the largest African American Chamber in the state of Ohio.  Collectively, we have achieved a scale that creates an asset for our region.

Through a partnership with the City of Cincinnati and many of our corporate partners, the African American Chamber offers a range of robust initiatives aimed at creating sustainable growth opportunities for our members with our programming.

With these offerings our Chamber assists African American businesses in connecting directly with consumers, corporate partners, other majority owned firms, and public sector entities.   Additionally we provide capacity building programs and on-going training to prepare businesses for expansion.

Our goal is to broaden our paradigm surrounding minority businesses  (be they African-American, Hispanic, Asian or women owned).

It is limiting our potential to think about inclusion,  in the context of set asides and “just the right thing to do”.  Minority business development equates to “good --  solid  ---  business”.

We celebrate the commitment of our current members and invite you to take advantage of the momentum, do more with us.   We also invite new memberships, whether corporate, non-profit, regional entities, new businesses, or past members;  we hope you decide to join us in making a valuable contribution to our region.

Minority Business Development is critical, and our Chamber is providing an answer.
